Direct Replacement Scheme
Under contract and in close cooperation with the MoD, Carwood operates the Direct Replacement Scheme (DRS). This scheme enables repair centres in the Army to get parts for specified vehicles directly from Carwood. Repair centres simply fax their needs to the Carwood DRS Operations Centre and the item is delivered with all the logistics and paperwork handled by us through dedicated DRS stock points and branches.
The products involved are often rare items that are remanufactured specially for the Army to their own specification, items include:
- Alternators
- Diesel fuel injection pumps and injectors
- Generators
- Hydraulic rams
- Inclinometers
- Starter motors
- Turbochargers
Current DRS stock points and branches are located at:

- Edinburgh
