Gary Carter, FIMI
Chairman & Founder of the company in 1966
A highly respected figure in the local business community and the wider industry for all his achievements with Carwood. Gary was once a keen golfer, now plays tennis, really enjoys skiing and the challenge of Salmon fishing!
Kevin Mulholland, MIMI
Joined the company as a Technical apprentice in 1972. Before becoming Managing Director in 1990 Kevin was Technical Director, he is a keen supporter of Coventry City football club and a former manager of his local village football team. He also has a set of golf clubs gathering dust!
Peter Boardman, FCA
Peter qualified in the accountancy profession and joined the company in 1990, having spent most of his working life in the automotive component industry in senior management positions. In his spare time Peter enjoys playing lawn bowls, walking in the countryside and being involved in charitable activities.
Director – Diesel Systems
Ian joined the company when it purchased CLS Vehicle Systems and CLS Reman in September 2000. As commercial director of Carwood he ran our Birmingham operation, developing it into a major diesel remanufacturing centre. Having served his apprenticeship as a motor vehicle mechanic Ian was with the Lucas Group of companies in UK distribution for 28 years. Given his background it is not surprising his main interest was in successfully running specialist electrical and diesel workshops.
Operations and Technical Director
Dave served his City and Guilds apprenticeship with G.K.N. Keller, who specialised in piling and foundation engineering. With over 30 years experience in the plant and construction industry, his previous roles,pre-Carwood, have included 15 years as service manager and then, more recently,as Operations/Service Director with H.M.Plant, a national equipment distributor. Dave,who joined Carwood in March 2005, as Operations/Technical Director, still continues to participate in five a side football, plays golf and enjoys following F1 motor racing in his spare time.
Nigel Pond, BA, ACA, AMCT
Financial Director and Company Secretary
After graduating in accountancy at Exeter, Nigel worked at KPMG before moving into industry roles with companies including Britax plc, Saint Gobain Solaglas and Triton Showers. When away from corporate finance, family life with his wife and two sons is understandably the priority. As a keen traveller Nigel’s interests include history and geography, skiing and water sports. The adventurous side of his character is revealed by ascents of Kilimanjaro and Mount Rainier.
