Training and Development
Addressing the challenges of ever more rapidly changing technology in all aspects of the business requires constant investment in training. This is clearly true for vehicle systems and diagnostics, but equally applies to other parts of the operation such as accounting, IT, health and safety and environmental issues. We are approved to ISO 9001:2008. This latest accreditation is most appropriate to our philosophy of working with our Customers and Suppliers through regular review meetings to monitor performance. Looking forward, the company is in the process of gaining TS16949 certification at it’s manufacturing centres and will seek approval to ISO 9001:2015 / 2016 when that standard is finalised and released.
Carwood conduct technical courses for both internal and external candidates. The head office at Coventry is an approved Institute of the Motor Industry training centre, hosting companies and organisations such as the MoD, MAN Truck and Bus, EvoBus UK, Mercedes Truck Dealerships, Car Dealerships and Service Centres.
As part of a number of defence contracts awarded to Carwood, field based training is provided to, for example, Army Commando Units for the deployment and use of specialised equipment maintained by Carwood. Our training commitment extends to a modern apprentice scheme and a large proportion of the apprentices are offered long term positions with the business in a technical service role.
In keeping with our stated business policy “…to work closely with the OE manufacturers to ensure O.E. standards are maintained in the aftermarket for the life of the vehicle and/or equipment” Carwood has built strong links with world class manufacturers such as Bosch, Delphi, Denso and VDO (Siemens), utilizing their state of the art training programs and facilities. This enables us to attract high calibre “future technician” individuals into the business and enables our aftermarket expertise to match O.E. standards.
